The cabbage patch

New babies are being born and that means more blankets to be made!

My cousin’s girlfriend was expecting in April so I made her a lighter weight blanket for her little one… gender unknown! So I was trying something new with the lightweight fabric and making it in a completely gender-neutral print was a bit of a challenge. But I found something I liked and it came out quite nicely I think! It’s brushed cotton and flannel (aqua).

And then the baby was born 2 months premature… but it’s healthy and it’s a BOY! And apparently mom loves it so I’m very happy.

And another baby was born, a little brother to a sweet little girl in Germany. He was born in February so a nice winter blanket was made and since I made it after the birth I knew his name as well so I was able to customize it a bit. I used brushed cotton, sherpa fleece and thick corduroy for the pocket.

This is to be sent shortly overseas and it hopefully will keep a little boy toasty warm.

Then my sister-in-law is expecting a little boy in May and my best friend is expecting her first (a boy too! So many boys!) in June so I have quite a bit more sewing to do. And I know the names of both these upcoming arrivals already which means monograms! I’m excited to get working on their little gifts soon.

In the meantime, I’m continuing to work on my shop. I want to add one or two new products soon so I’m working on that and of course new blankets for spring and summer and more stuffed toys!
